Essay For Melville [Dead&Gone-T.I]

What do you like, the beat or the song? Or is it both? T.I known as Clifford Harris Jr. was born September 25th, 1980 in Atlanta, Georgia [Bankhead]. Known as the greatest rappers, T.I made an excel album Paper Trail which has a song on there that sends out a message. The song Dead and Gone is the best song ever. The sound is good, brings vivid pictures to your mind, and shows a new perspective.

The way the beat flow with the chorus makes it a good sound. The chorus "Oh (hey), I've been traveling on this road too long (too long), Just trying to find my way back home (back home), But the old me is dead and gone, Dead and Gone, And Oh (hey), I've been traveling on this road too long (too long), Just trying to find my way back home (back home) But the old me is dead and gone, Dead and Gone". This is a good sound because if you sit there and think about what he just said in his chorus, the point he is trying to get across is violence affecting our nation. In one part of the chorus he says "I've been traveling this road too long (too long), Just trying to find my way back home (back home)", this meaning that he been living his life for too long, and he just now starting to get to find his way through life, but violence got into his way and took him through another situation. So he now feels dead and gone.

The vivid pictures that were brought throughout T.I's song, Dead and Gone were in one part of verse one. In the one part in verse one, it stated "They don't wanna stop there now they busting,
Now you gushing ambulance rushing, You to the hospital with a bad concussion, Plus you hit four times but it hit yo spine, Paralyzed waist down and ya wheelchair bound". This was when he ran into a group of boys but didn't want to start anything, but an argument was caused so the boys jumped him and started to shoot at him. Now he ended up paralyzed from his waist and down. He didn't mean for this to happen but he ran into a group of boys at the wrong time and ended up in the hospital.

T.I's song, Dead and Gone new perspective is "Things get out of control". This meaning that you can just walk the streets and you can end up shot, dead, or injured. Like in his song, one part was stated that "You walk by-they get wrong, You reply, then sh*t get blown". T.I's trying to get across that you can just walk by someone and they jealous or something, they decides to do something wrong. Once you reply, things get out of control. So in the bridge of his song, he says "I turn my head to the east; I don't see nobody by my side, I turn my head to the west; still nobody in my sight, So I turn my head to the north swallow that pill I call my pride". He saying that east and west isn't the direction to take, but north is, and he swallows that pill he calls pride because he know that going the right path can cause some critical damage as well.

Known as one of the best songs (Dead and Gone) written by T.I has a good sound, vivid/broad pictures, and has an excel new perspective. Just do what is best for you. Don't be a follower, be a leader. Like T.i has stated, swallow that pill that you call pride.

Who's better out of Jay-z and Nas?

In Melville's english class, there were a variety of answers to "Who's better out of Jay-z and Nas"?
Five classmates stated that Jay-z is better than Nas. Does Jay-z has more experience than Nas? Rory said that "he's the best" while Kris stated that "I don't like Nas". Also, maybe Jay-z has more plublicity. "I never heard of Nas" replied Nafis. "I'm more familiar with Jay-z music" commented Melville. Or is it because of his swagg makes him better than Nas. Sierra believes that "he has more swagg while Nas doesn't." These are the beliefs of what 5 of my classmates believed.

Final Draft for NHD

Do you want to make an impact on us citizens? Do you want to become an anthropologist? The American anthropologist, Margaret Meade developed the field of culture and personality research and was a leading influence in introducing the concept of culture into education, medicine, and public policy. In 1923, she entered the anthropology Department of Columbia University. Perhaps the most profound and far-reaching impact that Margaret Meade had was as a counselor to American society - usually on family related issues.
Margaret Meade was a counselor to American society, which she became a major impact in history. In the past, Meade wanted to make Americans understand cultural anthropology as well as to understood archaeology. Mead's interest in psychiatry had turned her attention to the problem of the cultural context of schizophrenia, and with this in mind she went to Bali, a society where trance and other forms of dissociation are culturally sanctioned. Through the work of Ruth Benedict and Margaret Mead, the relevance of anthropology to the problems of public policy was recognized to a degree, though somewhat belatedly. When World War II brought the United States into contact with allies, enemies, and people emerging from colonialism, the need to understand many lifestyles became apparent. Mead conducted a nationwide study of American food habits prior to the introduction of rationing. Later she was sent to England to try to explain to the British the habits of the American soldiers who were suddenly thrust among them. After the war she worked as director of Research in research cultures, a cross-cultural, trans-disciplinary project applying the insights and some of the methods of anthropology to the study of complex modern cultures. In return, she contributed significantly to the development of psychoanalytic theory by emphasizing the importance of culture in personality development. She served on many national and international committees for mental health and was instrumental in introducing the study of culture into training programs for physicians and social workers. Ever since Margaret Mead taught a class of young workingwomen in 1926, she became deeply involved in education, both in the universities and in interpreting the lessons of anthropology to the general public. Margaret Mead was a dominant force in developing the field of culture and personality and the related field of national character research.
However, Margaret Meade relates to NHD because her theoretical position is based on the assumption that an individual matures within a cultural context which includes an ideological system, the expectations of others, and techniques of socialization which condition not only outward responses but also inner psychic structure. We should be able to care about Margaret Meade because the impact she made for us citizens had encourage people to follow in her footsteps such as people becoming a anthropologist. Margaret Meade isn’t famous, but she should be. She should be famous because the impact she had on us citizens which she had helped people and their relationships with each other. She also should become famous because she was a leading influence in introducing the concept of culture into education, medicine, and public policy. The legacy Meade has on us today is her words. Several examples are "A city is a place where there is no need to wait for next week to get the answer to a question, to taste the food of any country, to find new voices to listen to and familiar ones to listen to again. Life in the twentieth century is like a parachute jump; you have to get it right the first time." The way we can feel her words is because of the way she describes and compares them to reality. She describes it in a way where you will always see what she means.

Final Copy of Animal Farm

Although characters in Animal Farm has a way of stories to be perceived, they believe anything they are told. Animal Farm is an allegory that was based on the Russian Revolution but was told with animals. Author George Orwell wrote this book to criticize Stalin and the Russian people. In Animal Farm, Squealer uses many rhetorical strategies to convince the animals to submit to the pig's rules.
By way of example, Squealer uses rhetorical strategies to make it seem like the animals have only two choices, follow the pigs or Jones will return. Squealer uses the two choices to make Napolean preeminent to the other animals. Squealer says that "you're with us, or Jones will return". The fact that Squealer twists up stories is because he wants the animals to be on the pigs side, but if not he trying to make an excuse saying that Jones will return knowing that the animals don't like humans. In the text, he told the animals that Boxer died in the hospital but he really were sold. He just want to the animals to keep up with his lies so it can seem as though the pigs are doing the right thing. Even though Squealer were a dissimulator, he always persuade people with the lies he tell. In the allegory Animal Farm, they describe Squealer as "a brilliant talker, and when he's arguing some difficult point, he had a way of skipping side to side and whisking his tail which was somehow persuasive. They say Squealer can turn black into white." Just like in the real world, Squealer is just like Bush. Bush states that "you're with us or against us." That's similar to what Squealer trying to say. But if you are with him then it's okay, but if you're against him, you're dead. Squealer is a prevaricator but the animals are having a hard time to see.
Notably, he blames all the animals tragedies on Snowball. Squealer puts all the blame on Snowball so that the pigs can escape blame and responsibility. Everything are now blamed on Snowball. To the animals, they now see Snowball as an intruder trying to mess up their life. Like for instance, Napolean blames Snowball for knocking down the windmill but really the storm hit it. In today's society, the situation with Iraq is just like Snowball and the windmill. Bush blames an Iraq for the incident that happen with 9/11 when Osama Bin Laden really did it but he's not even from Iraq. Just like the situation Bush has, Napolean blames Snowball for knocking down the windmill, when really it was a storm. Squealer is a person who stands on other people beliefs that really don't happen.
However, Squealer make it seem that there can be no doubt that the pigs are always right. Squealer make it seem like Napolean is always right. Squealer are using one of his ways to persuade people as being a reliable man. He are trying to play as if Napolean are right about all the things he does just because he is one of the smart animals. Though some of the animals aren't literal, they don't understand that Squealer are trying to persuade them. Since Squealer is a man they believe are reliable, they wouldn't believe in such a thing. In the book, it states that all animals aren't smart besides several of them. Like usual, Bush and Squealer believes there is no doubt. Bush believes the U.S is always right. Bush doesn't want to put a better ends to the United States because he believe that the things he do in the U.S are always right never wrong. Squealer is a tricky boar.
As previously stated, the rhetorical strategies, Squealer uses to convince the animals to submit to the pigs rule. Squealer is a brilliant talker, a prevaricator, and a tricky boar. So how do the Russians feel about this situation? It matters if you stood up for your belief because close
mouths don't get fed. Just know that don't trust everything you hear, it can be false.

Animal Farm Essay

In the novel "Animal Farm", there is a lot o commotion throughout the story. Napolean known as the boar, lies to the animals to get his own way, get more power, and to take over the farm. First of all, he lies to other animals so he can get his own way because he wants to be known and have publicity for being one of the good animals. In the text, it stated that "Napolean was a large Berkshire boar, the only Berkshire on the farm, not much of a talker, but with a reputation of getting his own way." Futhermore, he lies to get more power. Napolean must see his self as being the top animal on the farm. Every time someone do something wrong, look at him wrong, or talk about him, he will get his dogs. For example, "silent and terrified, the animals crept back into the barn." They are scared and know that Napolean has more power than them. However, he lies most of the time so he can become the leader and run the farm. Napolean can get into their head more faster because he's smart and they believes he tell the truth. But since Snowball wasn't there, I believe that the animals wouldn't believe Napolean, they probably would believe Snowball. I say so beacause in the text, they said "this arrangement would have worked well enough if it had not been for the disputes between Snowball and Napolean. These two disagreed at every point where disagreement was possible." In conclusion, the more the story go on, the further the conflict goes on and become chaotic. That's why Napolean lies need to be solved.

Ms.Mellville Essay

Richard Connell values liberty because of two main reasons. One way Connell values liberty is because he cuts out the other voices who stands on the side of equality. For example "Don't talk rot, Whitney" said Rainsford. This was told to Whitney because he feel as though that animals shouldn't be hunted. Since Rainsford yelled that statement to Whintey, that makes me feel as though that Connell values liberty. Another way Connell values liberty is because Zaroff and Rainsford are the two main characters and they both value liberty. If Connell wasn't on thbe stance of liberty, then he would of kept Whitney in the story and would of heard his point on hunting. Like for instance, if Richard Connell were equality, he wouldn't have use this quote "Life is for the strong, to be lived by the strong, and if need, be taken by the strong. This means that every man should be able to do what they please. These are the two reasons that makes me believe Richard Connell values liberty.

NHD Project

I chose Dr.Francis West Lewis for my NHD Project because I am interested in the way he cared for children and how he built a hospital just for children.

This person is important to history because without his efforts, The Children's Hospital Of Philadelphia (CHOP) wouldn't be here for the care of children. Now that this has happened, there will be less stress for trying to get your child to a hospital for any aged person. But now that the hospital for children is built, your child would be taken care of more easier.

For this week's research, I found an article http://www.google.com/search?q=Dr.+Francis+West+Lewis&ie=
utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

I will read and summarize it for next week.

Election Issues

Are you in a situation that president George Bush isn’t doing anything about, but the following candidates (Obama, McCain) are. Then why won’t you hurry up and vote so George Bush can get out the White House as soon as possible! But the person you need to be voting for is not McCain so it must be Obama. Obama is the first African American to run up for becoming a president. Best and believe that Obama will try and do his best on your issues. Everything Obama said what he would do for our country I believe is the truth. I know this for a fact because when I was reading his book “Dreams From My Father”, every promise he made, he kept. That is why I believe that Obama is a “Man Of His Word “. Before he ran for president, he worked for an organization. When nothing wasn’t happening to the difference of the neighborhood and everyone in the organization wanted to quit. Obama said he kept his word and he not going to quit until he makes a difference in the neighborhood. Guess what! He committed to what he said, so now there’s a difference in the neighborhood. So if you vote for Obama, I guarantee that he will resolve your issue.
The next president of the United States should improve our country by focusing on the funding for the schools in our country, and to stop the war between Iraq and the United States. Therefore I think Obama should be the next president of the United States because of his stance on keeping a newer vision for 21st century education, and keeping a smaller “residual force”.
Barack Obama should improve our country by focusing on the funding for the schools in the United States because today, people go by No Child Left Behind (NCLB). No Child Left Behind is not a major issue. What they need to be worrying about is the kids having the right amount of materials so no child wouldn’t be left behind. Like for instance, Barack Obama feels the same way I do. Obama’s criticisms for the No Child left behind bill have a focused on the bills funding and its testing standards. He says that the bill “forces” schools to meet goals “without the resources they need,” and supports increased federal Public Schools. Now John McCain on the other hand supported the No Child Left Behind bill. He now calls it a “good beginning” in need of some revision. He has not proposed specific revisions to the bill. I supported Barack Obama’s issue instead of John McCain’s because like I said in the beginning, Barack Obama is a man of his word. So therefore, I think Obama would keep his promise to us citizens today instead of McCain.
The next reason why Barack Obama should improve our country by stopping the war between Iraq and United States because people are losing there lost ones. I say that there shouldn’t be war any longer. But since Bush was the president at the time, of course he agreed to have war. So whoever becomes president, I wish they can stop this war between Iraq and the United States. Obama said that in the year of 2002, he wouldn’t go on going to war with Iraq. So if Barack Obama became president, he would withdrawal from Iraq. John McCain had voted to authorize military action in Iraq. Instead of stopping it, he believes that “we are winning in Iraq, and that if we fail in Iraq, we’ll see Iraq become a center for al Qaeda chaos.” He considers premature withdrawal to “surrender”. Another reason why I chose Obama instead of McCain is because if Obama becomes president, he would want to end the war but McCain want the war to go on instead of ending it. So Obama do care for others, not just for himself.
If you are reading my essay, and you one of the people who have family in the military and you are losing them. Why won’t you vote for Obama so he can end this war for you? Just know that if you vote for Barack Obama, it wouldn’t just be a blessing for him, it would be a blessing for you too.
